The process for drawing up our professional standards was detailed and thorough. Our consultation process included consideration of all participating parties. Although ITSA was founded in the UK, our standards align with international best practice and are consistent with regulatory frameworks in other jurisdictions.
Whilst our Association has not been established to act as a voluntary regulator of our therapy, our Professional Standards have been drawn from the recommended requirements of voluntary self-regulation, as detailed in the House of Lords’ Report (2000).
